Earning the Judges Choice Award as Best Processor in the 2015 CNP Awards, Adyen enables merchants to seamlessly accept payments across channels worldwide with only one contract and one technical integration. The company is one of only two to have earned recognition at the CNP Awards every year since its inception in 2012.
Based on its results in 2014, Adyen is doing something right. The company processed $25 billion in payment transactions and saw more than 100 percent growth in revenue, an 80 percent increase over 2013. In addition, it experienced 40 percent growth in new customer wins and had an annualized run rate of $30 billion in transaction volume processed.
According to Adyen, it optimizes its platform country by country and is constantly evaluating and updating its technology, providing merchants with higher authorization rates, conversions and profitability all while ensuring no downtime and providing redundancy and backup in every country. As a gateway, it can connect merchants to more than 87 acquiring banks globally, and can switch between backend acquirers effortlessly.
Adyen says it is the only payment provider that has a single platform to process payments globally and across channels and stands alone in its global acquiring capabilities. Four of the five largest U.S. Internet companies use Adyen to process their payments.
The Amsterdam-based company notes that its growth last year was driven by both a substantial increase in customer adoption and organic growth of existing customers in many key markets globally, including North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific. New customers that signed with Adyen in 2014 included Facebook, Spotify, Airbnb, airberlin, and Domino’s Pizza.
