Jan. 12, 2012
Award-winning online game publisher Valve has extended its
relationship with payments processor GlobalCollect. Under the new agreement,
the Dutch payments technology company will process all online payments for
Valve worldwide. Over the past four years of the partnership, the gaming
company said it has benefited from GlobalCollect’s extensive experience of
worldwide payment processing as well as its in-depth knowledge of alternative
payment methods, cultural payment preferences, and monetizing video gaming
platforms. “Think global, act local when it comes to check-out pages,” the
companies said in a press release. “Given GlobalCollect’s proven track record
to offer Valve consultancy on localization of payment products to ensure
maximum conversion and its broad portfolio of alternative payments, Valve
recently renewed its service agreement. GlobalCollect takes care of processing
Valve’s online payment transactions via all major credit cards, local debit
cards, e-wallets, prepaid cards, and real-time banking products in a number of
currencies.”
