Chase Paymentech Reports Solid 4Q Growth

JPMorgan Chase & Co. during its quarterly earnings report Friday said its Chase Paymentech merchant-acquiring subsidiary processed $152.6 billion in payment card transaction volume in the fourth quarter of 2011, a 20 percent year-over-year increase. The company also reported it processed 6.8 billion total transactions during the quarter, up 21 percent from the same period in 2010. For all of 2011, Chase Paymentech processed $553.7 billion in bank card volume, up 18 percent from a year earlier, while transactions rose 19 percent in 2011 to 24.4 billion. Chase also said it has 8.4 million active mobile-banking customers versus 5.3 million a year ago.
