IdentityMind White Paper Looks at Anti-Fraud Technology Shortcomings

Aug. 2, 2012

IdentityMind, a Palo Alto, Calif.-based company whose technology enables customers to establish Internet identities, this week released a white paper examining the current state of anti-fraud technology in CNP environments. In Electronic DNA (eDNA™) -- Identity and Reputation Based Risk Management, which can be downloaded at the IdentityMind Website, the company’s CTO Dan Kolkowitz details the ways he feels current technologies are not serving merchants’ fraud-fighting needs.

“There are basic problems with the current solutions implementation,” says Kolkowitz. “Most of the available technologies end up being deployed as Black Lists, which don't stop the initial fraud; there isn't a clear way for merchants to share fraud data; and nobody is looking at systemic fraud in real time in a way that helps merchants and PSPs protect against it.”
