The CNP Awards ™

CardNotPresent.com is proud to present the inaugural CNP Awards, the very first awards honoring the companies, programs and solutions that have distinguished themselves in the card not present space during the past year.

This coming spring, in conjunction with The CNP Expo, CardNotPresent.com will name three winners in each of the categories. We will present a Best-in-Category Award (Judge’s Choice), a Customer Choice Award (chosen by the Customers / Merchants), and a First Runner Up in each category.

All Best in Category winners, and First Runner Up will be selected by a panel of independent judges chosen for their deep experience and unimpeachable reputations in payments and the card not present industry.

In an effort to differentiate the CNP awards, the Customers Choice Award will be given in each category based on the input from your customers. It will be up to you the nominee to encourage support from your clients to vote for you in your nominated category. Full instructions will be provided after the initial nomination forms have been received.

The Judges

		David Montague is the president and principal consultant for The Fraud Practice. He has more than 14 years of experience in eCommerce and over 10 years’ experience in fraud prevention. His career stretches from IBM and CyberSource to his own company, and repeatedly has been called upon to evaluate markets and develop new payment and fraud solutions.
		Paul Larsen, Managing Partner, founded PLC in 2004. He has more than 30 years of experience in the Direct Marketing industry. Prior to consulting, Mr. Larsen held a number of Fulfillment and Operations positions at Reader’s Digest and, ultimately, honed his payment processing skills in his decade long stint as Director of Operations for Synapse Group, Inc., one of the world’s largest magazine subscription companies. Paul is also a past Chairman of both the Direct Response Forum and the Payment Processors Association and presents regularly at conferences such as the DRF, DMA and Marketing Sherpa.
		Paul Tomasofsky, President, Secure Remote Payment Council, is a well-known payment systems executive with over 29 years experience in retail financial services. He is also the president of Two Sparrows Consulting which specializes in all aspects of small-value payment systems. During the past eight years he has consulted extensively on prepaid cards, debit cards, merchant acquiring, bill payment and presentment, reward programs, payments risk management, product positioning, outsourced procurement and operational topics. In December, 2009 Tomasofsky became the founding President of the Secure Remote Payment Council. He has served in various roles in the payments industry including positions with NYCE Corporation, Visa, NACHA and the Network Branded Prepaid Card Association.
		Polly Bauer CPCS, CME is an internationally recognized authority and considered by many to be the preeminent expert on credit card operations and all forms of payment acceptance, as it relates to internet, direct marketing and non face-to-face payment transactions. Her pioneering work in the field of credit card fraud prevention and detection performance has made her a much sought after consultant by top industry executives. A merchant advocate, she specializes in loss prevention, international expansion for credit card acceptance, and customer payment data security. Bauer currently serves as a member of the board of directors for the Direct Response Forum, board advisor to CNP-Europe and serves as payments advisor to and director for multiple technology and direct sales organizations.
		Steven Casco is the founder and publisher of CardNotPresent.com, a leading resource for e-commerce, catalogue and other merchants that accept customer- and card not present payments. Previously, Casco served in various roles at Prepaid Media, where he helped lead the creation and operation of the Prepaid Card Expo, and served as the primary developer and technological force behind Paybefore.com, the leading publication for the prepaid and stored value card industry. Prior to Prepaid Media, Casco had successful stints as an entrepreneur, published author, University faculty member and guest lecturer. Following the acquisition of his first company, Casco authored a book in the field of Internet and software security and joined the faculty of Northeastern University in Boston. He has also been invited to serve as a guest lecturer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
